ProgressPlus supports Sentinel Growth

Sentinel productWest Midlands based Sentinel Plastics has claimed that ProgressPlus production control software has supported its strategic growth plans.
The engineering business – which specialises in CNC machining and fabrication of industrial plastics – began using ProgressPlus in February earlier this year.

The software has now been deployed throughout the company, covering all aspects of production control including sales, manufacturing, reporting, stock control, despatch, and invoicing.

Director Lee Houghton said that the system has been such a success that Sentinel is now using it to support the management of its other business unit which manufactures plastic products for the building industry.
He said: “ProgressPlus has given us visual control across the business and has made us more competitive because we can analyse a lot deeper.

“Shop floor production is much tighter and our operatives have quick access to automated job card information from enquiry through to delivery.”
“From a management perspective it has improved the quality of our supply chain management, administrative and reporting processes, bringing considerable efficiency savings across each of our business units.”
“These gains have given us the scope and capacity to focus on other areas which will support the development of the business.”
The company – which operates from a 15,000 sq ft manufacturing site in Cradley Heath and employs 40 people – has recently overhauled its website in a step designed to drive sales online.

Sentinel ProductsThe ProgressPlus software system – which streamlines, automates and integrates the management and control of shop-floor production and administrative processes – has given Sentinel the ability to respond effectively to the increased online enquiries.

“ProgressPlus delivers full traceability throughout the production process and has given us the platform to go forward and grow our business,” said Mr Houghton.
“We are now generating a significant amount of enquires online and for us to exploit this trend it’s crucial that we respond effectively to these enquiries in an optimised and client-facing format.”
“ProgressPlus has delivered a step-change in our reporting mechanisms and we now have live access to all of our management, product and supply-chain documentation.”

“The system gives us the ability to respond quickly to online enquiries and I believe it will be a crucial investment as we continue to grow the business across all client-facing sales platforms.”Sentinal Plastics
ProgressPlus has been developed by Glasgow-based Berkeley Myles. Managing director Tony MacBride said: “We have developed successful partnership with Sentinel Plastics and have supported it throughout its development programme by helping it drive efficiency across all of its shop floor and management processes.”

“At a time when the manufacturing industry is reported to be in a recession, businesses are recognising that it is the most efficient and lean companies who will survive the current economic conditions.”
“More and more companies throughout the manufacturing industry are now adopting our ProgressPlus software and recognising that it can play a significant part in helping them to achieve the necessary efficiency gains and pass stringent quality audits by prospective clients.”

“We have experienced significant growth in the past year as a result of this demand and our teams will continue to be across the country showing why ProgressPlus is the only true option for companies serious about improving their production control.”
